Maths Trick
On Friday Brodie and Carolyn demonstrated a maths trick.
Nolan started with the last two digits of a phone number he knew. The girls then asked him to perform some calculations by adding, subtracting and multiplying numbers on a calculator. The answer he got was nine. That was the same number that Brodie had written on a piece of paper and given to another student to hold before they began the trick.
Teach The Teacher
Today Ellie and Rosie showed us the reaction that happens when you add Mentos to a bottle of Diet Coke. Watch the video below to see the results.

Today Stu Duval came to school to talk to us for Book Week. Stu is an author, storyteller and artist.
His website is http://studuval.co.nz/ and you can see some videos of him cartooning there.
First, he showed us a little bit about how to draw cartoons from a letter of the alphabet or a number between 1 and one million.
Then Stu entertained us by drawing a picture and telling a story called Rat Island.
